Dan Mahoney
Owner & Licensed Journeyman Plumber with Mahoney since 1972
Leading the Mahoney Plumbing team, Dan spends his time making sure his team is living up to Mahoney Plumbing’s goals. A side-kick to his father, Bart Mahoney, since 1960, Dan took full-time to plumbing in 1972 and has been working in the business ever since. Today, Dan is involved in everything from the training of new technicians to daily finance. He’s the cornerstone and heart-blood of the organization, leading by example with his integrity and values shaping his daily routine.
A Highwood native, Dan graduated from Carmel High School before he went on to attend Illinois Institute of Technology. An avid supporter of the plumbing industry, he’s held multiple seats on local and state boards and committees. Currently, Dan is on the Board of Directors for PAMCANI (The Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois). He also is a Trustee for the Local Pension and Welfare for the Local 501 Union and a Director of the Illinois PHCC (Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association). In 2006, Dan was President of the Illinois PHCC (Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association).
Peg Mahoney
Owner & Administrator Since 1986
Responsible for the administrative responsibilities of owning & running a company, Peg works in the office. Playfully referred to as “Potty Peg”, she is the go-to for customers who are looking to buy new fixtures and toilets. Her years of experience in the industry (and as a plumber’s wife) give her a unique advantage when it comes to selecting new plumbing items. Finding homeowners the items they desire, Peg blends design with the practical installation considerations like ‘does it fit’, ‘how accessible are repair parts’ and ‘how good is the product’.
Peg, Dan’s wife, grew up in Chicago, attended Loyola University for her undergraduate work and graduated with her masters in Social Work from University of Illinois Chicago Circle. Set up by a mutual friend, the two have worked together for the last 24 of their 32 years of marriage.
Dennis
Licensed Journeyman Plumber with Mahoney since 1987
For over 20 years Dennis has been with Mahoney Plumbing. Dennis has been a big part of our success and growth. He is a loyal, talented, conscientious, and honest co-worker who we feel extremely fortunate to have on our team. Dennis has taught everybody at Mahoney Plumbing a thing or two. Although we value all our staff, rest assured if you have Dennis servicing your home, you truly have one of the best plumbing technicians on the North Shore.
Dennis actually started his career at Mahoney Plumbing "on loan" from another contractor. Originally, he was to be with us for two weeks to complete a specific project. Well, Bart Mahoney took note of his skills and, above all, his attitude, and decided to invite him to be a permanent part of the Mahoney Plumbing team. Today, Dennis works on the service side of the business on home repairs and installations.

Licensed Apprentice Plumber with Mahoney since 2011
Hired to serve as a temporary addition to help us on a commercial project, Pat’s attitude, skills and forethought impressed us so much we just had to add him to the team. Outside of his remodeling work, Pat has saved local homes from sewer trouble, restored hot water & prevented flooded basements. One of our skinnier plumbers, we’ve put him in some tight crawlspaces and small manholes where he has saved the day for many customers. In his short tenure here he has quickly earned an impressive reputation as a team player here to get things done right. We look forward to seeing Pat grow within Mahoney Plumbing at the heels of the finest tradesman on the North Shore.
