50 Years. And Counting.
In 2010 Mahoney Plumbing celebrated 50 years of serving North Shore homes. We are proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to providing another 50 years of excellence in the industry.
THANK YOU to all our loyal customers who've made this possible. Without our customers we would not have the honor of being here and for that we are truly grateful.
Of course, special thanks are due to our dedicated team of technicians and office staff. Hands down we have the best crew out there. Their knowledge, talent and integrity are the things our company has grown on. Many thanks to all of you for making the last 50 years possible.

Our History
According to the Highwood Historical Society Bart Mahoney, Sr. emigrated from County Cork, Ireland to Highwood in 1914 and married Mary Cusic. As their family grew in a home with no indoor plumbing, the cold trips in the dead of winter to the outhouse were enough for Bart Mahoney, Sr. to try the new luxury - installing an indoor toilet. As Highwood legend has it, this was the first in Highwood. From those humble beginnings, nearly 100 years later the Mahoney family has turned plumbing and indoor comfort into a passion pursued every day.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bart Mahoney, Jr. started his apprenticeship in 1946 working on new construction plumbing and heating during the post WWII building boom. Wanting to be his own boss, he started Highwood Plumbing and Heating in 1960 with a focus on service, repair and custom home remodeling. He grew the business on honesty, prompt personal attention and a seven-day a week work ethic.
In 1972, Bart’s oldest son, Dan, joined the business, serving his apprenticeship and working in the field. At Bart’s side Dan learned the trade as well as the importance of customer service. In January of 1986, Dan purchased the business and changed the name to Mahoney Plumbing, Inc. Through 70 to 80 hour workweeks, Dan built the service division and began the remodeling and new construction division.
In 2001, looking to grow its services, Mahoney Plumbing launched into the maintenance, repair and installation of furnaces and air conditioning by starting an HVAC division.
Today, a full service home comfort plumbing and heating shop, Mahoney Plumbing employs 17 people to service thousands of North Shore residents plumbing, heating and cooling needs.

We do travel outside these areas for new construction, remodeling and other services.
